Right from the time when Guru's trailors had been coming on the television,I got more or less bowled over by the song "Tere Bina".I don't have enough words to describe this song nor do I have enough reputation to criticise or praise it even! LOL! But yesterday night,I thought of checking out the other songs of GURU and I found out something which triggered some emotions in me which I bet I never felt atleast in this lifetime.That "something" is "Ay Hairathe Aashiqui.."! The vague,evanescent image of a true love song which can convey more or less a xillion meanings that had been in my fantasies of my mind suddenly materialised out of nowhere.I couldn't believe my ears when I kept on listening to it on and on..............especially the beautiful meaning at the end of the song really stirred me up inside!
I dunno whether wotever I have understood from the song is at all right or not.. I mean.. I would have been glad if someone could have explained each and every line of the song to me with appropriate words.But for the time being .. lemme just write wotever I felt the meaning of those lines could be!

AE HAIRAT E AASHIQI JAGAA MAT = OH SURPRISE OF LOVE WAKE (ME) NOT
PAAON ZAMEEN, ZAMEEN SE LAGAA MAT = PLACE NOT THY (ETHEREAL) FOOT ON THIS (MATERIAL) EARTH
Here the the poet's soul that has experienced the bliss of true love that has been surprised by its ecstasy and somehow does not relate and belong to this loveless selfish materialistic world, does not wish it to transcend to this mundane earth. Love stays on as an attribute with the human soul and travels beyond death and delights the soul in its eternal journey. The Semitic faiths like Christianity and Islam that preach one life and the hereafter with the soul to rest in some place (maybe close to the grave) in the mean while call this phase as the eternal sleep or in Urdu/Persian "Kh'aab e adam". Mirza 'Daagh' Dehlavi's couplet pleads with the trumpet of the day of judgement not to wake him and other lovers from this slumber of love to wake and face the reality of the earth's last day of judgement because this sleep is the shield of love that covers the soul from its judgement dues.
"NA JAGAA KH'AAB E ADAM SE HAMEIN AE SHOR E HASHAR ~ KEH PADEY CHAIN SE HAM ZER E ZAMEEN ACHHEY HAIN"
I shall continue this translation further after hearing the song again. The Urdu/Persian phrase "CHASHM E NAM" means the wet eyes (weeping eyes).
Dram Dara... are words traditionally used in rendering Persian/Urdu/Hindi classical vocal form called TARANA (literal Persian meaning = melody)
